School Makes Big Anti-Woke Decision | Liberals Are Melting Down
In recent years, parents have fought school boards over unpopular decisions. Many have criticized public schools for pushing far left, or “woke,” curriculum. Much of this curriculum appears to rewrite American history.
On top of that, many schools have changed their names or removed monuments. Bowing to political pressure, it seems some school boards have tried to scrub away anything that could possibly offend.
That was the case in a Pennsylvania district, whose school board made a very unpopular decision. But a new school board was elected. And one of their first decisions appears to be flipping the woke movement on its head.
"A newly elected school board in southern Pennsylvania is bringing back one school’s American Indian mascot.
The school board for the Southern York County School District, about an hour north of Baltimore, voted 7-2 on Thursday to let Susquehannock High School bring back its traditional logo.
The school’s “Warrior Head” logo, which depicts a Native American in a feather headdress with a tomahawk and a pipe, honors the Susquehannock Indian tribe."

The Southern York County School District voted in 2020 to remove the American Indian mascot from Susquehannock High School. The mascot was featured in a logo depicting an Indian warrior. The mascot honored the Susquehannock Indian tribe.
After the board voted to remove it, the community was outraged. Two months ago, the district elected five new school board members. These candidates ran on pro-American Indian platforms.
And in a 7-2 vote, the board restored the Susquehannock mascot and logo. Critics had complained that the school board was trying to “erase” the area’s history and heritage.
All across the country, progressive school boards have seemingly worked to undermine America’s national identity. From rewriting American history to removing names and statues, liberal school districts have made moves largely disliked by most residents.
Parents have fought school boards over CRT, a curriculum that paints America’s found fathers as racists. Fights have boiled over into meetings and confrontations. Often, parents have voted out progressive school boards, bringing in leaders who respect their views.
Key Takeaways:
- A new school board voted to restore an American Indian mascot.
- The old board previously voted to erase the logo from the Susquehannock High School.
- This comes as parents push back against progressive school boards and agendas.
